Ownership of content

All articles, photographs, graphics, logos and other material on Inside China Tech are the property of Inside China Tech or the parties credited on each piece. They are protected by copyright and other applicable laws.

What you may do without asking us

  • Quote short excerpts (up to 75 words) for non-commercial commentary, criticism or review, with a clear link back to the original article.
  • Share our articles on social media using the platform’s native share button, without altering the headline or the accompanying image.

What requires permission

  • Republishing a full article, or more than 75 words, on another website, in print, in a newsletter, or in a paid product.
  • Reusing our original photographs, product renders, infographics or video.
  • Translating an article into another language and republishing it.
  • Using our brand name, logo or layout in a way that suggests endorsement.

To request permission, email hello@insidechinatech.com with a link to the piece, how you intend to use it, and where it will appear. We usually reply within two business days.

If you believe we have used your work without permission

We take copyright complaints seriously. Send a takedown notice to hello@insidechinatech.com that includes:

  1. The URL of the Inside China Tech article in question.
  2. A description of the original work you claim has been used without authorisation, and a link to where it normally appears.
  3. Your name, company (if applicable), postal address, telephone number and email address.
  4. A statement that you are the rights holder, or are authorised to act on the rights holder’s behalf.
  5. A statement, made in good faith, that the use complained of is not authorised by you, the rights holder, or applicable law.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We will acknowledge your notice within two business days, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material while we review the claim, and follow up with our determination. Misuse of this process may carry legal consequences under your local jurisdiction (for example, Section 512(f) of the U.S. DMCA).

If you believe a takedown notice was filed about your work in error

If you are a contributor or third party and believe content was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with the same six items above plus a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts in your location and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant. We will forward the counter-notice and may restore the material at our discretion in accordance with applicable law.

Smartphone brand names, logos and product images referenced on Inside China Tech are the trademarks of their respective owners. Mention of a brand or product on this site is for informational and editorial purposes only and does not imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, the trademark holder.
