Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Inside China Tech operates insidechinatech.com. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

1. Information we collect

  • Usage data. Like most websites, our server records standard log data: IP address, browser type, referring page and the pages you visit. We use this for security and aggregate traffic statistics.
  • Local storage. We store your light/dark theme preference in your browser so the site looks the same on your next visit. This never leaves your device.
  • Cookies. We use a small number of cookies for essential site function and anonymous analytics. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and clear them at any time in your browser settings.
  • Article views. We count how many times an article is opened. This is an anonymous counter and is not linked to you or to any identifier.

2. What we do not collect

We do not require an account, we do not sell personal data, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

3. Third parties

Pages may embed content from third-party services (for example X/Twitter posts or YouTube videos). When you load such content that provider may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under its own privacy policy. We also use hosting, CDN and security services that process request logs on our behalf.

4. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including the EU/EEA under GDPR and California under CCPA — you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Because we collect very little, in most cases the only data tied to you is server log data. To make a request, contact us via the Contact page.

5. Data retention

Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymised.

6. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
