Honor Robot Phone to Debut Self-Developed Imaging Chip: Honor Yuguang H1

Hengdian, July 28 — At an imaging technology conference held today in Hengdian, Honor officially unveiled its fully self-developed image processing chip, the Honor Yuguang H1. This new chip is set to make its debut with the upcoming Honor Robot Phone.

The Yuguang H1 is Honor’s first dedicated AISP (AI Image Signal Processor) chip, specifically custom-designed for professional video scenarios involving gimbals. It boasts a core energy efficiency density of 18.8 TOPS/W and supports real-time parallel image processing in the RAW domain. The chip natively delivers a 14-stop cinematic dynamic range and improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) by 8dB.

Key Features and Capabilities

  • Professional-Grade Video Quality: In high-contrast filming scenarios, the chip can simultaneously preserve details in bright highlights (like clouds) and dark shadows (like人物 details), effectively solving common smartphone video issues such as highlight overexposure and excessive noise in dark areas.
  • Hollywood-Standard Color Science: The chip reconstructs the entire video processing pipeline, natively adapting to ARRI LogC3 encoding and the AWG3 wide color gamut. Compared to the quality loss from multiple compressions by traditional smartphone ISPs, the Yuguang H1 significantly reduces the loss of color and light information, achieving a color recording standard on par with ARRI cinema cameras.
  • Deep Hardware Synergy: The Yuguang H1 works in deep synergy with the Honor Robot Phone’s 4D Titanium Alloy Gimbal and its 200MP main camera. It offers six professional cinematic camera movement modes. With a built-in AI tracking algorithm trained on tens of millions of samples, the chip can identify subject trajectories in milliseconds and output gimbal compensation commands simultaneously. This two-way联动 between physical stabilization and chip algorithms achieves shooting stability on par with professional gimbals.
  • Unified Cinematic Output: All three rear cameras—the 1/1.28-inch 200MP gimbal main camera, the 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and the 1/1.4-inch 200MP periscope telephoto camera—have been individually tuned with the Yuguang H1. Each lens can utilize the chip’s full computing power, ensuring a consistent cinematic output for wide-angle landscapes, portrait tracking shots, and long-distance telephoto photography.
  • Complete Creative Workflow: Powered by the Yuguang H1, the phone is the first to fully implement a Hollywood film industry creative workflow. It comes with a full suite of professional ARRI Look color styles, allowing users to produce cinema-grade color-graded footage with a single tap. It also opens up professional creation features like lossless APV encoding, professional monitoring, and custom LUTs.

This advancement allows average users to complete short film creation without post-production software, while professional creators can directly integrate their footage into professional film editing equipment.
