Xiaomi 18 Fold, Pad 9 Pro Max Launch Sept. 7 With XRING O3

Xiaomi has set its autumn flagship launch event for September 7 at 7:00 PM local time, where the company will unveil the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max. Both devices will debut the XRING O3, Xiaomi’s newest AI flagship mobile processor.

XRING O3: A 3nm chip crossing the 5 million AnTuTu mark

Built on a 3nm process, the XRING O3 scored 5.22 million points on AnTuTu, making it the first domestic mobile flagship chip to break the 5 million threshold. The chip uses a ten-core all-big-core CPU layout: six super-large cores paired with four large cores, with a peak clock of 4.35 GHz.

Its GPU is a new 16-core G2-Ultra NX graphics processor that delivers 85% faster graphics performance than the previous generation while cutting power consumption by 64%. The SoC also natively supports CXMT LPDDR6 memory, offering bandwidth up to 113.8 GB/s and access latency as low as 82 ns, gains Xiaomi says will benefit multitasking, on-device AI, and heavy gaming.

First XRING O3 devices: foldable and tablet

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is Xiaomi’s first wide-form inner-folding foldable and the first smartphone to ship with the XRING O3. Xiaomi highlights that the device will globally debut CXMT LPDDR6 memory alongside the self-designed SoC, pairing two key domestic components in one flagship.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV Finance praised the move, noting that Xiaomi is advancing domestic core technologies in high-end products through open cooperation and providing a new example of collaborative semiconductor breakthroughs in China.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is positioned as a large-screen productivity tablet and also runs the XRING O3. A unit with model number M367FC has already surfaced on Geekbench with scores of 3,560 on the single-core test and 13,937 on the multi-core test. Xiaomi says the larger screen will let the chip’s AI and graphics performance stretch out for video editing, drawing, and multi-window office work.

Battery capacity on the tablet will exceed 10,000 mAh, and it supports 120 W wired fast charging to balance long runtime with quick top-ups. Xiaomi also confirmed that the SkyNomad N70 Pro, N70 Max, and N90 Max vehicles will be officially launched at the same September 7 event.
